An ultra-quiet DC input lead acid
battery charger with 48 volt input to charge 24 volt batteries. DC input 24
volt Battery Chargers for use in 48V systems, 240 watt. These can also be used
for UPS applications, taking 48V input and charging a 24V battery and powering
a load at the same time.

Q: Can I leave the battery continuously on the charger? A:
Yes, the charger will go into "maintenance mode" and keep the battery topped
off. Q: Can I draw power from the battery when the charger is
connected? A: Yes, this is an advantage of the taper-charge method,
there is no noise from switching between modes, just be sure that there is
enough power in the charger to at least supply the load, then the battery will
take whatever is left over. Q: If I discharge the battery while the
charger is attached will the charger maintain a full charge? A:
Yes. Q: Can the charger be left connected to the battery when the charger
is not turned on, or when the input voltage of the charger has been cut
off? A: Yes.
Applications:
Fully automatic without intervention.
Output short circuit and battery polarity protections. Input low voltage and
high voltage connections.
Creating a 48VDC to 24VDC battery backup or
UPS.
Taper charger--constant current, constant voltage, and float. .
Installation Notes:
- A qualified automotive electrical technician should be used
to wire the charger into the vehicle.
- The PBCH10 converts 48 volt power into 24 volt power with 91%
efficiency, so for a 10 amp output the input needs over 6 amps. Make sure that
the wires connecting the are adequate for the current and the length of the
run. If the voltage drop in the wires are too much the "Low Battery Voltage"
alarm will come on. Wires that are too small may also overheat and melt the
insulation, causing a dangerous situation.
- It is OK to leave the unit on the charger when the power to
the charger goes on and off.
- Mount in an area that will get adequate ventilation and will
be free from rain, spray, or excessive dust.
