This is a fully isolated 48V to 28V DC/DC converter module, or "full-brick." It has 3000 volts isolation from input to output, has a standard footprint, and a wide voltage input of 36VDC-75VDC. The 48 Volts output is at 17.9 Amps, giving 500 watts.

The short circuit protection is done by an automatic recovery "hiccough mode," meaning that when it detects an overload it tries to come on, then if the fault is still there it will shut off. This happens continually until the fault is corrected.

This is perfect for down converting 48 Volts from battery or telecom voltage sources to 28 Volts for operating 24V vehicle equipment.
